John Wade takes first new Volvo F12 tippers
The first four new FM12 eight-wheel tippers to go on the road in
the UK have entered service with John Wade (Haulage) of Newton
Aycliffe.
The FMs form part of an order for 12 trucks including seven FLE 220
skip loaders and a 150t GCW Volvo FH12 500 6x4 Special Types heavy
hauler for plant transport.
Powered by the latest D12 340hp engine, the FM12 tippers have
Volvo's V2009 nine-speed transmission, the B-ride parabolic steel
spring rear suspension and straight beam front axles. They have
6.8m long aluminium bodies with 1.4m high sides built by Wade and
feature Edbro underfloor tipping gear, automatic tailgate operation
and Easysheet.
Two of the new tippers are operating out of Wade's quarries hauling
limestone aggregates and are the first Volvos to join the company's
55-strong fleet.
