Prolec system sets the limit for telehandlers

The first UK installation of a height and reach limiting device specifically designed for a telehandler has been carried out using a system designed by Prolec of Poole.

The Liftwatch 5 module, fitted to a Hawk Plant-owned JCB 537-135, retricts both the maximum height and reach of the machine. If the operator tries to exceed these no further movement is allowed until the height or reach are reduced.

The unit is working on the Birmingham Northern Relief Road, where the installation of such a system was a pre-requisite to ensure overhead wires and bridges were not struck.
