The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has launched its
brand new viral game today (Friday) to coincide with students
across England and Wales receiving their A level results.
Called Krazy Kanes, the game is launched to encourage young people
to consider a career in construction. It can be found on CITB's
home page at www.citb.co.uk as
well as on its careers page at www.citb.co.uk/careers.
The web-based game is the latest stage in CITB's positive image campaign. With the incentive of a Sony PlayStation 2, or one of three £100 HMV vouchers, players are encouraged to send the game to at least one friend.
Krazy Kranes is an arcade game where the player takes on the role of a crane operator who has to load the raw materials needed to build Krazy Kapitol City from passing trucks onto a conveyor belt. The player must take their position at the top of the crane and in a given time have to complete a section of the city. The more raw materials successfully loaded, the more points they score.
The game can only be accessed by entering CITB's website. Once the player is in the site they can find out about the range of careers the construction industry has to offer.
CITB communications director Jerry Lloyd said: "We need people in the industry to spread the word about the game. All you need to do is give young people the address where they can click on the Krazy Kranes link to the left of the screen. There is so much competition out there for youngsters that the construction industry has to be ahead of the game communicating with young people in ways they relate to."
The free prize draw will close on 30 November and the winners will be drawn on 2 December.
