Competitive Tendering of Cleaning Services for Clapton Park Estate

Clapton Park Management Org. is seeking invitations from contractors with a proven track record of providing an efficient, comprehensive and cost effective Estate Cleaning and associated services contract. It is our intention to let the contract on an initial 2 1/2 year basis to commence 1st October 2002. This will consist of the following:

Sheltered Housing

96 residential properties in 2 blocks

Court/Blocks

508 residential properties in 12 blocks

Town House Dwellings

596 residential properties in 22 roads

The contract, in broad terms, requires the service provider to:

1. Clean internal communal areas, including lifts, lobbies, stairs and stairways, landings and the like;

2. Clean external communal areas, including courtyards, paths, grassed areas and roads;

3. Remove litter and other refuse from internal and external areas;

4. Remove and safely dispose of hazardous waste and bulky refuse from internal and external areas.

The service will be required Monday to Saturday 52 weeks per year.

Contractors wishing to tender must submit their application to Mr Mark Chamberlain, Contract Services Manager, CPMO - The Housing Office, Ladybower Court, 4A Gilpin Road, London E5 0HL and must provide the following with their application:

* Their full name and registered address;

* The names and addresses of three referees for whom they are currently, or have recently provided work of a similar nature, particularly that for public organisation:

* Copies of their certified accounts for the last three financial years together with the name and address of their bankers; and

* A copy of the Company's statement in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974;

* A copy of the Company's Equal Opportunities policy.

The successful tenderer will be required to have insurance cover under Public Liability to a minimum of £10,000,000 and provide a Performance Bond approximately equivalent to 10% of the contract sum and/or a parent company guarantee.

The closing date for Tender Submissions will be 12.00 noon Friday 30th August 2002. Declarations of Interest should be made at the earliest opportunity in order to receive full documentation and properly evaluate a tender return.
