Bids wanted for Stoke's £250m PFI hospital deal
Contractors and their partners are being invited to check in for a
£250m private finance hospital deal in Stoke on Trent.
The project, for North Staffordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, involves
constructing a major teaching hospital on the City General Hospital
site and includes refurbishment and demolition work.
The Trust plans to shortlist four groups in November to pitch for
the scheme.
A spokeswoman for the client said it intends to go to two consortia
for best and final offers before a preferred bidder emerges in
summer 2003.
A start on site will be made a year later and the operation and
maintenance concession is likely to run for 25 years.
