Irish firm set to get first Kobelco CKE2500 crane
Plant hire company O'Kane Brothers of Dungiven, Northern Ireland,
is about to take delivery of the first Kobelco CKE2500 crawler
crane with a 57.9m main boom and an 18.3m fixed jib.
The 250t CKE2500 will be the heaviest crane in the company's fleet,
which mainly consists of smaller (60t to 80t) Kobelco crawler
cranes.
It bought the CKE2500 because it detected the need for a 250t unit
in the high end of the market. The crane will be put to work on a
marine application project on the West Coast of Ireland.
l Good experiences with 65t, 60t and 45t units convinced French
contractor ETPO to opt for Kobelco's 180t CKE1800 (with 51.8m boom)
for piling, clamshell and lifting work on the quay of St Nazaire
Port, France.
