Liebherr, Terex and Volvo have all announced deals that directly
followed visits to SED. Millennium Lifting's proprietors, Andy and
Jo-Anna Campbell, saw the LTM 1045/1 mobile crane at its UK launch
at SED, and ordered one there and then.
The 50t-rated three-axle crane has now been delivered complete with
a 34m boom and a 16m swing-away fly jib (offsettable to 40û),
giving a 50m maximum tip height. This latest machine takes
Millennium's fleet to five.
When representatives from Charles Wilson Engineering saw the range
offered by the newly formed Terex Compact Equipment, he recognised
its potential and ordered £1.5m worth of machines at the show.
The order covers mini excavators, dumpers and telehandlers and the
equipment will be spread across the company's eight depots in and
around London and Birmingham.
Sam Vallence, managing director of T Vallence and Son, and his
chief machine operator visited SED to scrutinise the various 13t
and 14t excavators on the market and settled on the Volvo EC140B.
"We tried one of the larger models on the demo ground and were
impressed with the power and performance and not least the operator
comfort in the newly styled cab," said Vallence.
