SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR ROADWORKS
Individual contracts up to £200,000
Select list of Contractors for the year 1 April 2003 to 31 March 2004
Applications are invited from contractors of proven experience who wish to be considered for inclusion on the select list of contractors for the above works.This is proposed to run for a one-year period from 1 April 2003 to 31 March 2004.
The works are for improvements to the carriageway and footway with associated drainage works and including traffic signals and safety fencing.
The total cost of the works programme for 2003-2004 is estimated to be £2million. Individual works orders vary between £15,000 and £200,000.

Contractors should submit their application in writing to the address below to arrive no later than 31 October 2002, and should include the following information:
* Company details
* Details of works of a similar nature carried out in the last three years giving the value of each contract
* The names and addresses of two technical referees, preferably local authority
* Company registration number and copies of the last two years balance sheets and profit and loss accounts
* A copy of the company Health and Safety Policy
* Copy of Quality Assurance certificate complying to BS EN ISO 9000 series
* Copies of insurance certificates confirming £10million public liability insurance and £10million employers liability insurance.
Please note that companies already on the Register of Approved Contractors for Highway Works (up to March 2003), or companies that have applied for inclusion on the new Register from April 2003 and have already submitted the above information, need to register their interest in this Contract but do not need to re-submit the information.
New contractors failing to provide the above information will not be considered for inclusion.
