Lenmar goes underground

Lenmar Developments, based in Dublin, is using a Vermeer Interragator II ground penetrating radar to offer site mapping of existing underground services to contractors and utility suppliers.

The machine can detect items as small as 20mm wide up to 460mm below the surface, while larger items can be detected at a depth of 6.1m.

Lenmar Development was formed after its own groundwork company highlighted the need for accurate underground information to avoid hitting hazards such as live power cables.

The machine can also detect bedrock and the water table.
