Ballast wins £13m housing PFI in Blackburn

A Ballast-led consortium has been appointed preferred bidder by the Blackburn, Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Healthcare NHS Trust to develop a residential housing scheme within the grounds of the Queens Park Hospital site.

The development will be known as Queens Park Terrace and is the first of a number of residential schemes that the consortium (Ballast and Nord/LB) is developing with other NHS trusts.

Ballast Special Projects and Ballast Construction North West will undertake the £13m construction work, while Ballast-subsidiary Wiltshier FM will deliver the building and ground maintenance during the 25-year concession.
