Brandon acquires Loadtite

Brandon Hire has purchased Loadtite, the lifting equipment business of crane hirer Baldwins Industrial Services, which is currently in the hands of the receivers.

The purchase resolves the question of whether Baldwins' receivers would try to sell the business as a single unit or accept offers for its various divisions.

Loadtite's 40-plus employees and four branches will be integrated into the Brandon Hire network while retaining the trading name.

"This acquisition creates an excellent platform for the development of Brandon Hire's lifting business. By integrating Brandon Hire's IT and customer service expertise we are confident that Loadtite will develop into a new and profitable income stream," said Brandon Hire finance director Chris Sims.

Baldwins' fleet of 250 mobile cranes and 100 tower cranes remains in the hands of the receivers.
