Atlas Copco to re-brand Krupp ready for Bauma
Atlas Copco has said that the integration of its recently purchased
Krupp brand of hydraulic attachments will be completed in time for
the Bauma exhibition in 2004.
"We will have re-branded the range as Atlas Copco by then," said
senior executive vice-president Bj"rn Rosengren.
"The combination of the two brands is a perfect match. Atlas Copco
is very strong in the small sizes, while Krupp has the reputation
in medium to large units," said Rosengren, adding that the purchase
had made Atlas Copco the market leader in hydraulic breakers.
The company also plans to introduce a four-model range of rotating
demolition pulverisers in January of next year, as well as two new
hydraulic breakers made for scaling.
Another area Atlas Copco is hoping to exploit further is surface
mining, which now accounts for 94% of mining activity. "We're very
strong in underground mines, but less so in surface mining which
has good potential for us," said Rosengren.
