May Gurney wins £10m Kent road deal

May Gurney has been named preferred bidder for Kent County Council's £10m East Kent access road.

The first phase of the contract involves the construction of a short length of new carriageway and roundabouts to the south of a large pharmaceutical complex operated by Pfizer between Ramsgate and Sandwich and the dualling of 1km of the existing A256.

The second phase involves dualling of a further 1.7km of the A256 from the north of the complex to Ramsgate. This work will be developed by the county council, May Gurney and Babtie.
