Lovell teaches site safety to kids

New Asset

Lovell, Morgan Sindall's affordable housing arm, is alerting children to the danger of playing on sites with these two characters.

Health & Safety Executive (HSE) figures show 16 children have been killed in construction-related accidents over the past 10 years, and 802 have been hurt.

Lovell has launched a colouring book featuring Laura and Lenny and promoting a 'stay safe by staying away' message. Copies of the booklet will be handed out to children at resident consultation events and when resident liaison officers visit homes for consultations on refurbishment.

"It is vital for children to understand that construction sites are dangerous places, not playgrounds," said Lovell business development manager Marcus Keys.

Laura and Lenny join the craze for cartoon characters carrying site safety messages to children. Others already in the marketplace include Kier's Kieran and his dog Digger and the HSE's Digga.
