Speedy Hire to expand
Speedy Hire has announced ambitious plans to expand its network of
depots across the UK with a target of 30 new green-field openings
in 2003.
The new depots, taking the company's total to over 280, will be
spread across the various divisions, although tool hire will
account for the largest part of the expansion.
The company has identified 30 priority locations, including
Belfast, Dublin and Cork, and is currently in the first stage of
negotiations with potential landlords.
"At the moment the plan is to meet our expansion targets through
greenfield openings, although this doesn't rule out acquisitions as
well," said chief operating officer Steve Corcoran.
Corcoran added that the plans reflected the healthy interim results
posted by the company at the end of last year, as well as the state
of the construction market. "The degree of confidence in
construction remains good. Commercial development has suffered a
bit, but infrastructure has more than made up for it."
