Llewellyn Timber Engineering is to be renamed Pace Timber
Engineering following its acquisition by timber frame specialist
Pace Timber Systems of Milton Keynes.
Pace acquired the roof truss manufacturer from Rok Property
Solutions for an undisclosed sum. It will retain the existing
30-strong workforce and management team.
Investment plans are already being drawn up for the Milton Keynes
manufacturing plant, which currently has the capacity to produce
3,000 roof trusses per week.
"In addition to investing in new plant and machinery, Pace Timber
Engineering will also look to develop and bring on stream other
timber engineered products such as engineered floor joists and roof
panels," said Pace managing director Phil Key.
"Unlike most manufacturers, the supply of product forms only part
of the business. Llewellyn has the capacity to design, supply and
erect comprehensive structural roof packages that often include
ancillary products such as rafters, soffits and bargeboards," said
Key.
