Union man sacked after disciplinary
UCATT Midlands regional officer John Cunningham has been sacked
following a union disciplinary hearing.
He was suspended at the end of last year after he made a public
attack on the union's leadership and policy (CJ 27 November).
Cunningham had been a full-time officer for the past four years. He
was the first chairman of UCATT's lay executive council. He had
recently been spoken of as a possible candidate to succeed George
Brumwell when he retires next year.
There has been no official comment from UCATT.
