Scottish firm Marshall Construction has answered a call from its
clients to improve its performance measurability. It will stage the
first ever contractor-led Key Performance Indicator (KPI) workshop
north of the border.
Clients including Diageo, Scottish Water, Stirling University and
Devro, as well as a number of local authorities, architects,
engineers and quantity surveyors attended the workshop with
Marshall management last week to set up the KPIs.
And, according to managing director Robert Marshall, the event went
well. "We had 20 clients here and every single one took away a
CD-Rom giving details of how KPIs can be used to benchmark and
improve performance to the advantage of both parties," he
said.
"They were immediately able to recognise the benefits of working in
partnerships and how an open, honest policy all the way through a
contract can benefit all parties.
"I am convinced that our clients' new found interest will lead to
the modernisation of the construction industry in Scotland as a
whole," said Marshall.
