A McAlpine pulls out of £23m hospital PFI
Alfred McAlpine has pulled out of a £23m private finance
hospital deal in south London, writes Brian Warner.
A source close to the Kingston Hospital project said: "The company
is involved in a number of PFI schemes and felt it couldn't commit
to this one."
Now only bids from Jarvis and Costain are being examined by the
Kingston Hospitals NHS Trust, with the preferred bidder due to be
revealed in March.
Last year, the client dropped bids from Interserve, HBG; and
Gleeson. The contract was due to be awarded last year, but was
delayed because of rows over the retention of soft facilities
management staff.
