Morrison wins water project
Morrison has tapped into a £40m contract for British Waterways
to refurbish and repair the canal network throughout the Midlands,
Wales and South West England.
The deal will initially run for four years, with an option to
extend by a further two years.
The value of individual projects within the overall scheme will
range from £20,000 to £1.5m and includes work on bridges,
aqueducts, locks, weirs and embankments.
The deal is part of British Waterway's Omnibus scheme, set up in
2000. The aim is for a single contractor to work in partnership
with the client to project manage all engineering maintenance
schemes within a particular region.
Other Omnibus regions include: the South - where Nuttall is the
main contractor; the North East - Galliford; and the North West -
Dew.
