A team of Arup and Aukett have won a major deal to design two buildings for the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
The team is providing structural and building services design, as well as environmental design and control for a 24,000m2 office complex and the 13,000m2 headquarters for the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines.
The two buildings have a combined construction value of £44m and are due to be completed in 2005.
Moshen Zikri, Arup director, said: "Arup is a strong advocate of sustainable design and it is satisfying to have the opportunity to create prestige offices and laboratories that are also sympathetic to the needs of people while addressing the environmental concerns in urban developments."
