Lafarge Aggregates has acquired
Staffordshire-based Premier Readymix Concrete.
The move strengthens Lafarge's presence in the region and
underlines the group's long-term strategic objective to maximise
the potential of all of its UK operations and overall asset
base.
Jeremy Greenwood, director of business performance for Lafarge
Readymix said: "Premier is a well-located operation in a part of
the country where there is great potential for growth in
construction. This move was a great opportunity to reinforce our
network of 105 concrete plants and improve our support to other
long-term Lafarge group operations in the region.
"It is our intention to make further investment in this regional
business, maintaining the existing workforce and providing better
support in areas such as customer service and technical excellence
to improve our overall offer to builders across the county," he
added.
As well as a full range of standard quality readymix concretes,
Lafarge hopes to be able to offer unique specialist products such
as the Agilia range of self-placing concretes and screeds.
