Jarvis plc, the facilities management and infrastructure services group, has been chosen by Liberta to provide a range of FM and property management services to Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council.
The contract is worth £90m to Jarvis over the 10-year period of the project.
Liberata, a specialist in business process outsourcing, has been appointed as preferred bidder for a Strategic Partnership with the unitary authority to provide facilities management, property management, back-office, HR and IT support and expertise.
This is a ground-breaking public/private project, which is expected to transform the quality and delivery of the local authority's services, is Jarvis' largest, non-PFI project in the facilities management sector to date in its expanding programme to provide FM services to local authorities.
As part of its property management service, Jarvis will:
- Manage the property portfolio, generating additional capital for Redcar & Cleveland.
- Provide building services, cleaning and security to all the non-housing property of the council, from council chambers to schools and social service centres to public parks.
- Create 150 new jobs in Facilities Management over the first two years.
