SHETLAND ISLANDS COUNCIL
Papa Stour Ferry Terminal
Shetland Islands Council intends to improve and develop the
existing pier
and facilities at Papa Stour Ferry Terminal. The works will
comprise of,
but are not restricted to the following:-
(a) Construction of a breakwater
(b) Construction of a quay face
(c) Dredging
(d) Installation of a linkspan
(e) Beach replenishment with dredged material
(f) Construction of access road and associated works
The cost of the works is estimated to be between
£1.0m-£1.5m. Civil
engineering contractors interested in tendering for the contract
are
invited to lodge pre-qualification details of their previous
experience in
the construction of similar works to the Head of Legal and
Administrative
Services, Shetland Islands Council, 4 Market Street, Lerwick,
Shetland ZE1
0JN, by no later than Monday 10th February 2003.
Contractors who are not currently on the Council's Financial
Assessment
Register for contracts of up to £1.5m, should be aware that
before being
invited to tender, they will be required to complete a form,
furnished on
behalf of the Head of Finance Services, asking for details of
the
Contractor's recent trading accounts; a bank reference to cover
the
estimated contract sum and their insurance details etc.
