Expressions of Interest
Victoria Park Skatepark, Warrington
Applications are invited from suitably experienced contractors who
wish to
tender for the design and construction of Victoria Park Skatepark.
The
project comprises ground improvement (possibly vibropiling),
drainage,
construction of in-situ concrete skate bowls and ramps, footpaths,
lighting
and other ancillary features. It is anticipated that the
contractors
selected to tender will have significant and recent experience
of
constructing in-situ concrete skating or similar facilities.
Contractors
should note that the outline form of the Skatepark has already
been
developed by a Chartered Landscape Architect in consultation with
local
interest groups. This outline layout will form the basis of the
Employer's
Requirements.
It is expected that the completed project will attract regional,
national
and international interest from extreme sports enthusiasts.
It is anticipated that tenders will be invited in April 2003 using
the ICE
Design and Construct Conditions of Contract.
The estimated value is £330,000.
Interested contractors should apply to The Strategic Director
of
Environment and Regeneration, Warrington Borough Council, Palmyra
House,
Palmyra Square North, Warrington WA1 1JN for the attention of Mr J
Plant by
Friday 14th February 2003. You should supply the following:
1. Details of recent projects of a similar nature.
2. The names and addresses of two referees from recent
clients.
3. Details of design expertise, or if working with an external
design
organisation, their details.
4. A copy of certified accounts for the last two financial
years
together with names and addresses of bankers.
5. A copy of your safety policy. (Shortlisted contractors will
be
asked for further health and safety information prior to
tender.)
6. Confirmation that the company is insured for Public Liability of
at
least £10 million.
