Tracker helps recover stolen mini digger


A £15,000 mini-digger stolen from Southern Electric's engineering depot in Lower Weybourne Lane in Farnham was recovered by the police thanks to Tracker.

Three days after the theft, the activated system allowed the police to pinpoint the machine in Shoreham, Sussex.

Colin Davey, Southern Electric's head of asset protection said: "We protect our fleet of vehicles and plant using Tracker. A number of stolen items of plant have been recovered in the past as the result of this equipment, which represents a sound investment in modern security technology."

Following the recovery two men were detained, telling police they "bought it in a car park for cash".

n Wedmore Plant Contractors is offering a reward following the theft of a Fermec 860 backhoe loader, registration W506 SYB, stolen from the Poolbridge Business Centre in Blackford, Somerset.
