Komatsu has extended its wheeled excavator range at the heavy end
with the addition of two UK-designed and built units.
The PW200-7 and PW220-7 have operating weights of 20t and 22t
respectively and bring the wheeled excavator range to five models
starting from 13t.
Both the new -7 models have the same 118kW engine driving a
three-speed powershift transmission, which gives travel speeds up
to 35km/h, a creep speed of 2km/h and a drawbar pull of 12t. Dig
depths and load over heights are up to 6.5m and 7.6m respectively
when using the longest two-piece boom.
Much attention had been paid to the pressurised and
climate-controlled cab, which has a noise level of 72dBA at the
driver's ear, and improved viscous damping.
The seat has an additional 120mm of movement over the -6 machines.
Bucket sizes range from 0.48m3 to 1.58m3 on the lighter machine and
up to 1.68m3 on the heavier. Both share a maximum bucket force of
17,950kg when using power boost with the short (1.8m) arm.
Outriggers can be specified at the front and rear and a dozer blade
is optional.
Service intervals are 500hrs for the engine oil and filter change,
1,000hrs for replacing the hydraulic filter and 5,000hrs to change
the hydraulic oil.
