WEST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL -
WASTES MANAGEMENT SERVICES UNIT
The construction of Groundwater Monitoring Boreholes on land
adjacent to
the former Landfill Site, Sompting, West Sussex.
The County Council wishes to construct a number of boreholes to
monitor
groundwater near the former landfill site at Sompting.
The scheme includes the construction of:
* Three to six boreholes, 150mm to 250mm in diameter and varying in
depth
from 55m to 120m
* Water extraction pumps and headworks
* Access tracks, fencing and associated temporary works.
Applications are invited from suitably technically competent
and
experienced contractors who wish to be included in a select list
of
tenderers for the construction contract which is due to commence in
Summer
2003.
Applications must be accompanied by:
* Clearly identified details of your company's experience in work
relevant
to that listed above, its value and clients.
* General company information and details of work undertaken.
* A copy of your company's Health and Safety Policy Statement
(dated and
signed by a person with executive authority), details of your
organisation
for Health and Safety, a summary of the arrangements for
implementing the
Safety Policy, details of your company's Competent Person for
Health and
Safety and details of your company's safety record for the last 3
years.
* Details of your company's experience, competence, and resources
to
perform the duties of Principal Contractor under the Construction
(Design
and Management) Regulations 1994.
* Your company's Environmental Policy (dated and signed by a person
with
executive authority) and details of any rulings made against your
company
under environmental legislation for the last three years.
* Your company's trading accounts for the last three years
(including
profit and loss accounts and balance sheets).
* Details of your company's Quality Management Systems, and copies
of
relevant certificates.
* Contact details (including phone and fax numbers) of at least
three
clients for whom you have performed similar work to that listed
above, and
who you have contacted recently to confirm that they will currently
provide
references for you.
* Any other information that you feel would be appropriate.
Contractors will be expected to deliver services which demonstrate
a Best
Value approach as defined by the Government.

the select list for these works (eg in 2002) must reapply now
submitting
the above information if they wish to be considered.
Applications, marked for the attention of Mr. I. D. Dudding,
and quoting reference IDD/WD7/7, must be returned no
later than Thursday 20th March 2003 to the Waste and
