Clugston Construction has won one of its biggest ever contracts - to build an 800,000 sq.ft. distribution centre for B&Q at Redhouse Interchange in South Yorkshire.
The unit near Doncaster, which will serve as one of B&Q's main DIY distribution centres, will involve 770,000 sq.ft of warehousing and 20,000 sq.ft of office space on the site beside the A1 motorway near Doncaster.
Work starts immediately and is scheduled to be complete by early
2004. The unit will provide 'state of the art' warehousing with 12m
high eaves; parking for 350 cars and 150 HGVs, a large service yard
and ancillary buildings.
The contract follows a deal between B&Q, part of Kingfisher plc
and Redhouse Projects, the joint venture of Scarborough Development
Group and Clugston Estates, who together are the developers of the
Redhouse Interchange, one of the largest greenfield development
sites in the north of England.
