OGC urges sites to be considerate
The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) has recommended that all
government construction sites should register with the Considerate
Constructors Scheme (CCS) or similar initiatives.
An OGC spokesman said: "The aims of the Considerate Constructors
Scheme are entirely consistent with the government's Achieving
Excellence in Construction initiative. It is, therefore, without
reservation that OGC recommends that all departments ensure that
their contractors register their construction sites under this or a
similar scheme."
David Hardy, general manager of the CCS, said: "We look forward to
working alongside government-sponsored sites to pass on best
practice advice."
The CCS has 5,580 live sites registered with a total project value
of £19.6bn.
