Landfill specialist Al-Jon takes the Advantage

Landfill compactor specialist Al-Jon has announced details of its
new Advantage range. The Advantage 500E has a gross weight of 45t
and is fitted with a 375kW (500hp) John Deere engine powering the
hydrostatic drive.
The range has been redesigned with a quieter, more efficient driveline, higher air flow for cooling, increased visibility and the option of joystick control.
Al-Jon's I Beam wheels accept the latest bolt-on version (removing the need for on-site welding when replacing the teeth) of the Macpactor Diamond tooth design, which is guaranteed for 10,000hrs.
The first of these machines has been delivered to Cory Environmental and a second to Devon Waste Management.
At the heavier end of the range is the 58t Advantage 600, said to be the biggest landfill compactor in the world. In the US, it is a best seller and the company believes it will be adopted in the UK too.
