Dumper manufacturer NK Lifton has launched a further assault on the
UK market with the unveiling of five new models from 1t to 5t.
This new offering is hot on the heels of the company's new 2t
machine and paves the way for a 9t unit to be launched in the last
quarter of 2003.
The three new mid-range machines (the 3t 3001, 4t 4001 and 5t 5001)
replace the company's existing offering and are targeted
specifically at the UK market. "These are all widely recognised
capacities in the UK," said NK Lifton managing director Graham
Bradshaw.
All now feature powerswivel skips as well as hydrostatic drive.
"This is very much the way forward for dumpers. Not only is it
safer and simpler for rental companies, it offers better
performance as well," Bradshaw said.
The new design includes a cast-iron rear end with recessed housings
for lights (optional) and an integral mudguard. There is also a
more extensive instrument panel and a polypropylene leg protector
as first seen on the company's smaller dumpers. "This is a unique
safety feature offering protection from skip overflow," said
Bradshaw. "We're now overcoming market scepticism over these new
materials."
At the smaller end of the market, in which Lifton claims market
leadership alongside Benford, the company has increased the
capacity of its existing 850kg and 1.2t models.
The new 1t payload 1001 has a width of 1,180mm, but is also offered
in a narrow wheeled (990mm wide) 850kg option. The 1.2t 1201
remains available in a swivel version, but the high-tip skip option
has been upgraded to 1.5t and redesignated the 1501.
