Mowlem has finally beaten Amec and Interserve to the £25m Chicksands Prime Contract for the Ministry of Defence.
The contract involves estate management of the Defence Intelligence and Security Centre at Chicksands in Bedfordshire over a five-year period with a two-year extension option. Property maintenance is limited to £1.4m per annum, while capital works is limited to £5m per project.
The project was advertised in February 2001 and was intended to be operational in 2002, but became delayed. Mowlem will start on site next month.
