WASTE DISPOSAL COMPANIES
Bristol City Council invites expressions of interest from
waste disposal companies interested in tendering for a
medium term contingency contract for the disposal of some
of Bristol's waste.
The contingency service to be provided is for the provision
and operation of suitable plant, equipment and facilities
for the disposal on a "call off basis" of waste arising within
Bristol for a period of three years.
This includes household and any other commercial and
industrial waste collected by contractors on behalf of the
Authority and some waste arising at Civic Amenity sites
that requires disposal. One or more tenderers will be
included on a list of standby contractors capable of

providing contingency arrangements for the disposal of
waste.
All tenderers will be required to provide evidence of all
planning approvals and licences necessary for the
operation of their sites.
Waste disposal companies with suitable available disposal
capacity within or adjacent to Bristol should apply in
writing for an application form by 11th April 2003 to: The
Department of Neighbourhood & Housing Services, Waste
Management Group, Brunel House, St George's Road,
Bristol BS1 5UY (marked: Ref: BJH/WDA/CON/03).
Tenders are to be returned by noon on 15th May 2003.
A notice was dispatched to the Supplement of the Official
Journal of the European Communities on 12 March 2003.
