BUILDING REFURBISHMENTS, FELIXSTOWE
SELECTION OF TENDERERS
Applications are invited from persons wishing to be selected by the
Council
as tenderers for the refurbishment of Felixstowe Leisure Centre and
the
nearby 91/93 Undercliff Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk.
These two projects are likely to be subject to a single contract
but might
be separated. Brief details of the projects, together with
approximate
values, are as follows:
* Felixstowe Leisure Centre: Major refurbishment of parts of
the 18 year old building, which is of composite construction. Work
will
include demolition of existing finishes followed by construction
and
installation of new partitions, screens, changing room cubicles,
drainage,
sanitary installation, suspended ceilings, floor and wall tiling
and other
decorative finishes. Electrical and mechanical services work is
included
but there will be no work to the Centre's swimming pool and pool
hall. The
value of the works is estimated at £480,000.
* 91/93 Undercliff Road, Felixstowe: Conversion of
approximately 50 year old concrete framed buildings, mostly
unoccupied but
used partly as the Council's sub-office, into new Tourist
Information
Centre and upgraded sub-office. Work will be mainly on the ground
floor and
include demolition of existing walls and partitions followed by
the
construction of new partitions, the creation of a welcoming
redecorated
environment, and alterations necessary for compliance with
current
Regulations. The value is estimated at £185,000.
Both projects are programmed for commencement of construction in
August 2003.
Those wishing to be included in the list(s) of tenderers must apply
