Balfour's awarded £4m mains renovation contract

Balfour Beatty Utilities, the gas & water utilities service business of Balfour Beatty plc, has been awarded the £4m, AMP3 mains renovation works - Phase 2 contract by Mid Kent Water.

Phase 2, which involves investigation, design, planning, renovation, replacement and abandonment works at Barming, Laybourne, Larkfield, East Malling and Maidstone, is a continuation of Balfour Beatty's Phase I contract.

Some 65 kms of unlined cast and ductile iron water mains varying between three and eight inch diameter will be refurbished on this contract, together with excavation and permanent reinstatement works.
