Fluctuating prices in building products
The cost of coated roadstone has increased while crushed rock and
sand and gravel rates have fallen.
The latest products and materials pricing data from the Department
of Trade & Industry shows that between July and October 2002
the price of coated roadstone moved up three percentage points.
However, crushed rock fell 1.2 percentage points and sand and
gravel rates dropped 2.1 percentage points.
Cement and ready-mixed concrete and fabricated structural steel
were stable, while all bricks posted a slight rise in August before
falling again.
Ceramic tiles recorded an almost imperceptible dip, while doors and
windows were up nearly one percentage point.
