Sansom Construction has been fined £1,750 for breaching
health and safety legislation after a member of the public was
struck by a falling scaffold board last July.
Maresa Bowen, 44, sustained a neck injury on her doorstep in Borth,
near Aberystwyth and had to give up her nursing career.
The company, based in New Quay, Ceredigion, was contracted to
Ceredigion County council to work on the house, and although the
scaffolding structure had been erected by another company, high
winds had affected the security of the board.
Aberstwyth magistrates court also ordered Sansom to pay £2,223 costs.
