Skanska's successful partnership with CLASP has been rewarded
with a two-year extension to its framework agreement.
This follows the award of new contracts worth £7.4m from
Nottingham, Stockport and Manchester councils to carry out
construction work on three schools.
The strategic partnering arrangement was initially for three years when signed in May 2001 - the extension comes after Skanska delivered 11 consecutive construction projects on time and under budget.
The latest contracts are a £4.5m project for Nottinghamshire County Council to refurbish and extend a comprehensive school, a £1.4m deal to extend a secondary school for Manchester City Council and a £1.5m project to build a special needs school for Stockport Council. It is the second project for Stockport Council in a year.
With a 46-strong membership embracing local authorities and public sector origanisations, the CLASP system has enjoyed a strong revival through its partnership with Skanska thanks to new technology and a dedicated supply chain provided by Skanska.
