Corus name new chief executive and chairman

Steel group Corus Group has today (Wednesday) revealed the names of its new chief executive and chairman.

Philippe Varin, 50, is the new chief executive with effect from 1 May. Varin has held a number of executive positions in Pechiney Group including latterly senior executive and vice president.

Jim Leng will be chairman from 1 June. He joined the Board in June 2001 and is currently deputy chairman of Corus. He will succeed Sir Brian Moffat on his retirement from the Board on 31 May.
