Worker buried alive on site named


A construction worker who was killed after he was buried alive on a building site in South Wales has been named.

John Doran, of Weston, was laying pipes in a deep trench on a building site when the earth collapsed on top of him.

Following the accident at Coal Star Farm, Llantarnam in Cwmbran other workers tried to dig the 54-year-old from the trench but he was already dead.

Doran was working for Brandwells, a Bristol-based company, on a Redrow Homes development.

The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has launched an investigation.
