WANDSWORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL
TESTING OF FIXED FIRE FIGHTING INSTALLATIONS AT COUNCIL HOUSING PROPERTIES
Suitably qualified and experienced contractors who wish to be considered
for selection to tender for the contract for the above-mentioned works,
which will be for a period of three years commencing in September 2003,
should submit their names to the Chief Executive and Director of
Administration, Room 110, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London
SW18 2PU by the 23rd May, 2003.
The main requirements of the contract will be testing and remedial works to
dry rising mains, hose reels and private fire hydrants in Council housing
blocks and estates throughout the Borough of Wandsworth.
Contractors who consider that they can offer a high quality service in line
with the above requirements and who are currently operating a similar
contract (or have recently done so) are invited to apply.
All applicants must provide the following information with their reply:
(a) The full name of the company wishing to tender;
(b) the names and addresses of three technical referees for whom
similar work has been undertaken;
(c) proof of Employers and Public Liability Insurance cover of at least
£5 million;
(d) the name and address of the company's banker;
(e) a copy of the company's latest audited accounts which should be not
more than 18 months old;
(f) an outline of the organisation of the company;
and
(g) the name of the publication in which this advertisement was seen.
In addition, if a contractor is short-listed to tender, they will be
required to submit a copy of their company's policy statement produced in
accordance with Section 2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work etc., Act
1974 and complete the Council's questionnaire on health and safety and
equal opportunities.
Responses to this advertisement must not incorporate replies to any other
placed by Wandsworth Borough Council. Late applications will not be
considered.
