Intervect unveils new product range

Intervect, the company formed by the merger of Alimak and HEK, has announced a range of new equipment, uprated control systems and attachments.

The SED award-winning HEK MS Compact Mastclimbing Workplatform is designed for access in confined spaces such as inside lift shafts, chimneys, bridge towers and the like. Its modular components can pass through an 850mm diameter opening and, apart from the motors, the sections are light enough to be manhandled.

In 10 hours, the unit can be assembled to reach heights of 50m with anchors at 12m intervals and it can carry 750kg payloads at 7.4m/min. Two platforms, 1m wide by up to 6m in length, can work, one above the other, on a single mast and there is the option of a 120kg capacity crane.

Alimak's CM12 material hoist has a 1.2t payload, travels at 26m/min for high-speed materials movement and is available with platform sizes of 1.8m x 2m or 1.4m x 2m. It has a maximum height of 100m with a freestanding limit of 4.5m and can share the mast with an additional independent personnel/materials hoist.

More compact, at 1.4m x 1.5m, is HEK's GL500S material hoist, which has a 500kg payload and a running speed of 24m/min. It has an 80m maximum height with anchor points at 6m intervals and a freestanding height of 5m, making it ideal for work on low-rise buildings.

Also available is a frequency control start on an Alimak Scando construction hoist - particularly useful where peak currents must not be exceeded for financial or safety reasons.

Continuing the safety theme is the Roll Out Deck that can be used to bridge the gap created by tapering tunnels or bridge sections, or to reach over balconies. It can be extended up to 1m in 200mm increments, will support two people with hand tools and, once extended, a relay prevents platform movements up or down.

For glaziers, HEK has designed the FleX Fence, which can be raised and lowered as required. When fitting windows, the fence is raised to prevent operatives falling through the aperture in the building, but once the glass is installed the fence can be lowered to allow unobstructed fitting of sealing strips and cleaning of the windows.

On its stand at SED, Intervect will be building and dismantling the HEK MS Compact Mastclimbing Workplatform as well as demonstrating the GL500S, the Roll Out Deck and the FleX Fence.
