EXTERNAL REPAIRS AND REDECORATIONS WITH ROOF RENEWAL AT FIVE HOUSING BLOCKS
ON THE ALTON ESTATE, ROEHAMPTON, LONDON SW15
Applications are sought from main contractors who can demonstrate extensive
experience in the management of major multi-trade social housing
refurbishment and who wish to be considered to tender for the above works.
Applicants should submit their names to the Chief Executive and Director of
Administration, Room 110, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London
SW18 2PU by 16th May, 2003.
The contract works comprise the repair and redecoration of the external
elevations and communal areas with renewal of flat roof waterproofing at

five blocks of 12-storey high-rise occupied flats on the Alton Estate,
SW15. The blocks have uPVC windows that are to be overhauled and cleaned.
Contractors applying will need to be adept in the management of specialist
subcontractors and be able to include in their application details of
similarly sized contracts undertaken.
All contractors applying must provide the following with their application:
(a) The full name of the company wishing to tender;
(b) the names and addresses of three technical referees, with details
of particular projects, who are able to provide a reference of the
applicant's competence specifically in this type of work;
(c) a copy of the company's latest audited accounts which should not be
more than 18 months old;
(d) the name and address of the company's banker;
(e) confirmation that the company is insured for Public Liability of at
least £5 million;
(f) a copy of the company's Construction Industry Deduction Certificate;
(g) evidence of acting in the role of Principal Contractor under the
1994 CDM Regulations on similar schemes;
and
(h) the name of the periodical in which this advertisement was seen.
In addition, if a contractor is shortlisted to tender, they will be
required to submit a copy of their company's Policy Statement produced in
accordance with Section 2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work etc., Act
1974.
Responses to this advertisement must not incorporate replies to any other
placed by Wandsworth Borough Council. Late applications will not be
considered.
The work under this contract will be carried out under the direction of Mr.
C. Buss, BA, CPFA, Director of Housing and enquiries relating to this
