SummitSkills seeks six directors

SummitSkills, the body aiming to be licenced as the Sector Skills Council for the electrotechnical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and plumbing industries this summer, is seeking to appoint up to six directors from the building services engineering sector.

The posts are unpaid, but travel and out of pocket expenses will be met.

SummitSkills will welcome applicants from all employers engaged in the sector (particularly small/micro businesses and sole traders), including contractors, manufacturers, professional bodies, higher and further education organisations and training providers.  In particular it will welcome applications from ethnic minorities, women and disabled people, as these groups are currently under-represented throughout the sector.

SummitSkills is an employer-led limited liability company with charitable objectives and will be responsible for the setting of training and qualification standards throughout the sector as well as being responsible for gathering intelligence about the sector and encouraging entrants into it by developing a career structure.
