Shepherd Construction has won a £4.8m contract to design and build an office and warehouse complex in Doncaster.
The 13,000m2 facility at West Moor Park for client Shepherd Developments will comprise a steel framed warehouse and a three-storey office block. External works will include the construction of a service yard area, with parking available for 131 cars.
Shepherd's use of ground engineering will see materials excavated in one area of the site used in another meaning there will be no need to export excavated materials off site, resulting in a minimum amount of construction traffic during this phase of the works.
Shepherd has considerable experience in the warehouse and office construction sector, and has previously worked on two other projects at West Moor Park - the £14m Ikea Distribution Centre and the £5m Fellowes Distribution Centre were both completed in 2001.
The project is being part financed by Objective 1 (South Yorkshire) funding through the European Regional Development Fund.
