CONTRACT FOR OPERATIONAL BUILDINGS WINDOWS, ETC.
CLEANING
Under the terms of the Local Government Act 1988 applications are
invited
from suitably experienced contractors who wish to be included in
the
Selected List of Tenderers for the provision of Operational
Buildings
Windows, etc., cleaning.
The work comprises the cleaning of windows and other areas of
internal and
external glazing in accordance with a schedule of cleaning
standards and
frequencies at the Council's 86 operational buildings
(compromising
offices, libraries, youth clubs, hostels, etc.) throughout the
Borough.
The contract will commence on 6th October 2003 and tenders will
be
requested for a contract period of three years. The draft
Conditions of
Contract and Specification will be available for inspection free of
charge
between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm week days (excluding
statutory
holidays) until 30th May 2003 at the Concourse, Town Hall
Extension,
Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU.
A copy of the draft Specification and contract document may also
be
purchased by written application to the following address at a
charge of
£150:

Suitably experienced contractors wishing to be considered for
inclusion on
the list of those from whom tenders will be invited should write -
by no
later than Friday 30th May 2003 - to the address above, giving
the
following details:
a) The full name and address of their company;
b) The names and addresses of two referees for whom similar
window
cleaning works are being or have recently been undertaken, together
with a
description of such works and the contract values;
c) Copies of the company's last three years' accounts including
the
most recently audited accounts which should be not more than 18
months old;
d) The name and address of the company's banker;
e) Confirmation that the company possesses public liability
insurance
cover of a minimum of £5 million;
f) A copy of the company's policy statement on equal
opportunities; and
g) A copy of the company's health and safety policy
document.
Tenders will be invited from selected contractors on Monday 7th
July 2003
and offers will be due for return on Wednesday, 13th August 2003;
the
successful tenderer will be notified in September 2003 in order for
the
contract to commence on 6th October 2003.
