Carillion, in joint venture with two partners, has been selected as the preferred bidder for a new hospital facility in Canada.
The Healthcare Infrastructure Company of Canada has been selected as the preferred bidder by William Osler Health Centre, Ontario's sixth largest hospital, to design, build, finance, property manage and maintain the new 608 bed hospital in Brampton, Ontario.
The contract will also involve the provision of non-clinical
services over the life of the 25 year concession.
Carillion chief executive John McDonough said the hospital was the
company's first project of its kind outside the UK.
"Developing our healthcare business and exporting our public
partnership and business service skills to our international
regions where we have well-established businesses, are important
parts of our strategy for growth," he said.
"The award confirms the potential to grow our Public Private Partnership and business services activities internationally, particularly in Canada."
