RMC signs deal with HSE

RMC has joined forces with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to improve further RMC's health and safety record.

Although RMC enjoys one of the best safety records in the building materials industry, claim the company, the agreement will mean that HSE will concentrate its visits on those RMC plants at which both parties feel further improvements could be made.

The HSE will also continue to make a number of visits to other randomly selected RMC sites.

Richard Claydon, UK health and safety manager at RMC, said: "The safety of our employees and the third parties who interact with our business is an absolute top priority for RMC. We have succeeded in reducing incidents on our sites by 17% over the last 12 months, but we recognise that there is always more that can be done."

"The targeted input by the HSE will be invaluable and by signing this agreement we can maximise our efforts by focusing in a significant way on specific parts of the business to help us improve our safety record still further," he added.

RMC is one of 25 companies across a variety of industrial sectors to be invited to sign up to the agreement.
