Jarvis preferred bidder on £40m university contract

Jarvis has announced today (Friday) that it has been appointed preferred bidder for a £40m contract to construct an accommodation block for Nottingham Trent University.

Under the 30-year deal, Jarvis will construct a ninth hall of residence on the university site providing a further 458 student rooms.

Developed on the existing Gill Street car park, the block will cost £10.2m to build and will be completed for the start of the 2004 academic year.

Jarvis already manages and operates eight halls of residence, comprising 2,326 rooms, for Nottingham Trent University following the transfer of almost the entire estate in 2002.
